Project on Women in Decisionmaking

Support for a balanced representation of women and men in leadership positions in employer’s  organisations  in Slovakia

General objective: Promoting gender equality in economic decision-making in Slovakia

Specific objectives:

– improvement of the knowledge base on the impact of the gender dimension to the representation of women in leadership positions;

– provide information and identify barriers and good practices in terms of employing women in decision-making positions;

– the creation of tools to enhance gender equality in decision-making at different levels of hierarchy in private and public organizations in Slovakia;

– improvement of the knowledge base on the impact of the gender dimension to the representation of women in leadership positions in organizations through research;

– identifying of good practices in organizations in supporting of women in  leadership positions through analytical study;

– exchange of experiences and good practice and to support networking of key stakeholders and professionals at national and European level in the field of balanced representation of women and men in leadership positions through national and regional conferences;

– motivating employers’ organizations for the promotion of balanced representation of women and men in leadership positions through competition Family, Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities Friendly Employer;

– raising awareness and encouraging women to expand their careers and become leading candidates for the position, where is the responsibility for decision-making through a media campaign;

– support for a balanced representation of women and men in economic decision-making through the establishment and operation of IT gender equality portal for women interested in leadership positions;

– implementation of system changes in gender equality issues in economic decision-making through the strategy and action plan for gender equality in economic decision-making in Slovakia;

– improve the awareness of employer organization how to create condition for balanced representation of women and men in organization by methodological guide;
